artist biography

Eleanna Makris Anagnos was born in Evanston, Il in 1980. She spent her last four years attending Kenyon College, a small, liberal arts school in Gambier, Ohio. Anagnos realized her love for creating oil paintings her sophomore year while attending Lake Forest High School. In 1996, Anagnos was awarded Honorable Mention by the Art Institute of Chicago. Since then, she has exhibited her work on campus at the Women's Art Exhibition 1999, 2000, 2002, The Horn Gallery 1999, 2000, 2002 and the Olin Art Gallery (for her senior composition, "underneath") in 2002. She is currently exhibiting some of her paintings in a group exhibition at the Hellenic Museum and Cultural Center in Chicago.
